Dr Peter Davis: is Chief Executive of Tasmania's electricity distributor and retailer, Aurora Energy Pty Ltd, a position he has held since March 2004. Prior to that he worked at General Manager level in both the Hydro Electric Corporation and Aurora Energy for 9 years. At Aurora he has been a strong advocate of leadership development, and of the links that Aurora has to the Tasmanian community.

Dr Davis is also Chairman of Aurora Energy AAPT Pty Ltd (trading as TasTel), and Ezikey Group Pty Ltd – two start-up companies bringing telecommunications and smart card payment systems to Tasmanian and interstate customers. He is also a member of the Council of the University of Tasmania .

Dr Davis was born and educated in Tasmania , and holds a PhD in solar energy engineering from the University of Queensland , and an MBA from Deakin University . He also holds qualifications in teaching and science from the University of Tasmania and Monash University , and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institution of Engineers. He counts amongst his interests bushwalking, gardening, snow skiing and competitive dinghy sailing.
