Dianne’s forward thinking and specialised knowledge of student well-being have encouraged the development of effective policies and school structures that enhance the welfare of all students and in particular students with special needs. She is a life long learner and successfully completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Studies (Student Welfare) and a Master of Education, both courses have heightened her awareness of the challenges faced by young children and she subsequently has introduced strategies to assist them cope. Dianne is a visionary leader who encourages individuals to use their strengths to further enhance their own learning; this mentoring of staff has been instrumental in assisting others to fulfil their career aspirations. Dianne has an inclusive philosophy seeking ideas from all members of the school and parish community are involved in the process of decision making. Dianne is extremely conscious of her responsibility to find a balance between the expectations of society and providing a high quality education where the students are happy and well balanced. Dianne interacts in a warm and caring manner encouraging respectful relationships amongst all members of the school / parish communities. This is demonstrated by actively seeking and valuing interaction with the students. She facilitates S.R.C. meetings, supervise the student auditions for the Talent Show and is adamant that she carries out two playground duties a week so that she can listen to the students and observe social interaction. Dianne Redford is a principal who has put in place procedures to achieve a ‘united we stand’ culture in school community. She is an innovative leader who has introduced:
Dianne introduced and is implementing a whole school approach to ‘Student Wellbeing’; this program promotes the development of a positive school climate, which enriches the lives of students and teacher alike.
